Most of our Indigenous societies held some practice related to the “lying in” of the person who’d just given birth. Lasting from 30, 40, 60 days, this period is a time for the new parent to adjust to their new body and identity, for the family to adjust to having a new member of the household, and for healing of the body, mind, and spirit of those who’ve just crossed the Veil. Altared Roots Doula can work with you to facilitate that process.

Moving from a framework of Reproductive Justice, our offerings seek to supply you with knowledge to help you repair and enhance your relationship to puberty, fertility, and the birthing & parenting journey.
